3 Ways to Start Creating More Content

October 22, 2024

In social media, both quality and quantity are important. However, it can be difficult to put out a lot of content, especially if it’s not a major part of your job. Here are 3 strategies to help you create more posts and use existing assets to your advantage!

Remix Your Content

Creating content from scratch is hard. If you have a post that performs well, use elements from it to make more.

For example, Brick Media posts a new team picture with the caption, “Team picture day!” and it performs very well. We determine that the photo is why the post did well and can remix it multiple times. We later use the image in a highly informative carousel about our business that we pin to our profile. We also include it in a photo dump we post at the end of the month.

A long-form piece of content can be remixed into a text graphic, the results of a poll can be turned into a greenscreen video, and so on. Think of a post that has performed well for your business in the past. What can you pull from it that can be reused in the future?

Create a Series

Not only should you identify different creative elements that perform well, but you should also pay attention to what themes and formats are getting the most engagement.

Take these findings and create a series. One that we do here at Brick Media is “5 Questions With a Team Member.” Each time someone new joins the team, we film a mini-mic video so our followers can get to know them. What is a post you’ve done that could be turned into a series?

Get Others Involved

Enlist a coworker, friend, client, or customer to film a piece of user-generated content (UGC) for your business. This can bring in some fresh ideas too especially if they have some creative freedom in what they make.

Some examples:

  • Ask a coworker to film a “Day in the Life” (DITL) in their role.
  • Get the owner to share a story from the early days of the business.
  • Request a client film a testimonial about their experience with your product or service or even a photo of them using it.
  • Have a friend create a video of their experience visiting your business.

Once you’ve done this, determine if it has the potential to become a series or if there are elements you can pull from the post to be remixed. Repeat this process anytime you feel like you’ve run out of ideas!

Final Thoughts

It can be difficult to keep coming up with fresh social media ideas, and it’s easy to get burned out. By implementing these 3 strategies, you can maximize your efforts and capitalize on what is working for your brand.
