Happy New Year! We hope you are off to a great start in 2025. If you haven’t already, now is the time to plan out your social media strategy for the rest of the year. Here are 3 actionable steps to get you started:
1. Engage Your Audience for Insights
Ask your followers for their feedback and use these findings to shape your content for the rest of the year. Check in with them by asking questions. This could be through a series of polls that inquire about content preferences, stories that leave space for feedback, or even going live and interacting directly with followers. Taking these opinions into account can increase your engagement and deepen your connections.
2. Audit Your Social Media Presence
Go through each of your social media profiles and make sure all contact and business information is current, links are working and accurate, and that your branding is consistent across platforms. Also, take some time to dive into your analytics from 2024. Identify what formats, topics, and designs performed best, and use this data to inform your 2025 strategy. For instance, if your reels consistently outperformed still posts, prioritize more video content this year.
3. Build a Content Calendar
A content calendar is an incredibly useful tool for social media managers. We use them for all our clients to stay consistent, organized, and work ahead. We use Monday.com, but there are plenty of great applications out there such as Buffer and HootSuite. Some even automate publishing. Do some research and find the right one for you. Once you’ve set up your content calendar, start filling it in as much as you can. Plan out monthly themes, key events, holidays, birthdays, and so on. If you know you’ll be having any major promotions throughout the year, include it in your calendar. For the rest of the year, fill in your content as far ahead as you’d like. We recommend 2 weeks to a month.
January is the perfect time to take these steps towards success. The more you do now to plan out your social media strategy in advance, the easier it will be for the rest of the year. As the year goes on, don’t forget to check in on how your posts are performing and adjust along the way. Social media is never static, so your strategy shouldn’t be either
